For the Love of Children's Lit Continued...

Since I am rather obsessed with children's books, I wanted to share some of our favorites below.  I love these works for both their heart-warming stories/messages as well as their charming illustrations...

Anna Dewdney successfully illustrates the delicate tension experienced AND caused by baby llama and the mother's associated unconditional love in this adorable series about baby and mommy llama drama.

We love the soothing rhythmic lines and the unique collage-like artwork in the following Eric Carle classics...

Dr. Seuss, in my humble opinion, is the most brilliant, creative, and imaginative author/artist of children's books of all time....

Someone posted this little funny one on FB...

Particularly for the new parent, Sandra Boynton's books about quirky, fun-loving animals are cleverly written and illustrated, and provide amusement to both parent and child!

Although as a parent, I often find these wordy, and strangely celebrating the mischievous/hit-and-run crimes of Curious George, our kids adore these fun classics by Margaret & H.A. Rey...

Documenting the trials and tribulations of the typical toddler, the 'Little Critter' series by Mercer Mayer is a HUGE favorite of both children and adults in our house!

Although I initially did not see what the fuss was all about, I have enjoyed these two classics by Margaret Wise Brown...the new, sleep-deprived parent is almost as mesmerized as child, by the poetic, rhythmic verse...

This series by Laura Numeroff creatively illustrates a typical 'ADD-ish' day with toddler, constantly moving from one project/distraction to the next...and once again, artwork is amazing!

Such a quaint and adorable classic series by Ludwig Bemelmans about the European adventures of a little girl named Madeline...

A good solid series about family values, lessons, and virtues by P.K. Hallinan...

Another classic series about life lessons by Stan & Jan Bernstain about a cute little bear family living in a tree house in the woods!

A few other favorites by other genius authors...
