Tangerine Tango...

As mentioned in my prior post, the Downton Abbey 'Smoking Room' might be my favorite of all the fabulous interior masterpieces throughout the castle...I love the warm, cozy feel of the orange/coral walls.  A slightly deeper reddish-orange hue, Tangerine Tango, Pantone 17-1463 was declared Pantone's 'color of the year' in 2012. Though some may say, "so LAST year!" I have not yet gotten my fill of this cheerful hue...how about this color for inspiration for our family room re-do?

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

...well said Leatrice

And, speaking of Pantone, how fabulous are these colorful mugs, inspired by the Pantone color spectrum...

Below inspiration rooms are courtesy of Houzz, Pinterest, Elle Decor, Martha Stewart, and other wildly creative designers/bloggers...I think these orange shades pair beautifully with pops of turquoise, soft blues, greys, navys...

Love all of the elements in this room, from orangecashmere.blogspot...coral grasscloth on walls, beautiful Madeline Weinrib rug, cheetah pillows, Mary McDonald lamps, offset with a cool, grey/blue couch...LOVE!

Love the orange + blue color combo AND bold pairing of graphic patterns!

Once again, orange + blue is one of my fav combos and another of my favorites, STRIPES!

Here, coral also pairs nicely with pops of grass green...
