AMAZING!! St. Christopher's Art Fair...

Last weekend, we had our final day of PSR (religious ed) at our local parish church/school, St. Christopher.  Afterward, we discovered the annual school "Art Fair", a display of art projects from students K-8.  I am always highly impressed with their art department's creative projects and the students' talented execution.

Unfortunately, we did not have much time to spend visiting this exhibit.  We had to quickly rush through, so I did not have the chance to jot down any artists' names or grades to give proper credit in the photos below.

Nevertheless, I was amazed by the complexity of the projects, the wide array of artistic challenges/principles they addressed, and generally how stunning the art was across the board.  St. Chris School is so fortunate to have such a wonderfully talented art department!

Huge "Eye" Exhibit that included individual student 'eye' works and related quotations...it wrapped all the way around the auditorium...

"Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye."
- Helen Keller
"The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust
"Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye." - H. Jackson Brown Jr.
The quintessential 'God's Eye' yarn weaving project, so many colorful and interesting square patterns and shapes hanging throughout the room...

Some adorable butterflies with the children's hand prints...a treasure for all parents!

Highly detailed pen and ink projects...very creative and fun!

LOVED these colorful graphic works in various animal motifs...patterns in color, shape, overall composition was so interesting!

I think I like this one the best...
No, this one!
No, this one!
No, this one!
No, this one!
No, this one!
Seriously, they were all amazing!!

How quirky and charming are these cute little dogs!

I am not sure how they did this project, but we were fascinated by this!!  Rainbows of melting crayons...

Fun illustration of sign language...(and very accurate!)

I felt as though we were visiting an art museum...so many amazing projects!

Fun exercise using (presumably) the artists' monograms...when combined in different angles, sizes, and shapes, they create a very cool graphic image!

How dynamic is the use of bright, (fluorescent?) colors against the black background...

Not sure if they were incorporating lessons in social sciences here, but loved the nod to other cultural influences...

"Elements and Principles of Art"....all were certainly covered throughout these projects!

Even some 3D art!

I was crazy about these cute little trees!

Thanks, St. Christopher for sharing your beautiful works of art....Hope you enjoyed these projects as much as we did!
