Simple Yet Beautiful Thanksgiving Centerpieces

Let's face it; Thanksgiving is really about gathering with family and friends, giving thanks for our blessings, and all the delicious FOOD, right? Nobody has the time or energy to spend on elaborate centerpieces.  Yet, everyone enjoys a beautiful table on which to celebrate the holidays.  I am a big believer in keeping it simple by using organic materials (real fruit and veggies, leaves from your yard, etc) to create an easy-yet-festive centerpiece.

I will never forget the Thanksgiving when my son Charlie was born on November 30th, and I decided to host some family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner.  Granted, everyone helped to pitch in since I was literally 40 weeks pregnant, but I could not have pulled it together without the help of my Mom, visitng us from St. Louis.  Ever the floral-expert, she pulled together the most beautiful (yet simple) table by purchasing flowers from our local grocery store, collecting leaves and other items from our yard and throwing it together in a magically beautiful way.  I wish I could be as creative, but luckily, we have the Internet from which to gather plenty of ideas along these same lines....Just a few inspiration pics to share just in time for Thanksgiving.

Have a happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to all who may be planes-trains-and-automobiling this holiday season! xoxo Claire

A little more involved with the assembly of all of these items, but I love this organic, rustic, autumn wreath!

And now, for your table....

This was my simple store-bought roses (in fall colors) arranged in a blue buffalo check pitcher, surrounded by some mini boxwoods...
This is another one I have used....just gold apples from Home Goods mixed with gold tipped pine cones...So easy!

Coordinately Yours by Julie Blanner - How simple and gorgeous is this!!

Midwest Living - Again, so simple yet stunning for a fall table!

Pinterest - love the random collection of natural items to create a colorful centerpiece!

Better Homes and Gardens (BHG) - Some simple pears, nuts, and leaves gathered in a bowl, done!!

BHG -Again, a little more involved, but love the gold-spray-painted pumpkins, burlap runner, and pinecones...a neutral with metallic masterpiece!

BHG - This looks trickier than it is...just simple roses, some greenery and some faux bois (fake wood) wrapping paper trimmed, wrapped, and taped around vases you already own...

BHG - Just a branch from your yard can be placed in a tall vase with attached "what are you thankful for" leaves made my construction paper and a sharpie...easy for kids too!

Good Housekeeping - just glass vases in different shapes and sizes + white candles + acorns, nuts, etc. SO SIMPLE and beautiful!!

Via Pioneer Woman - again, how simple yet beautiful! A cake stand with mini pumpkins and greens (I would use salal or variegated pittosporum (as in photo))

Shortstopdesigns Blog - Again, just glass vases you already have wrapped in burlap ribbon, with white hydrangea mixed with autumn colored gerber daisies, lilies, mums

SimplifiedBee.com - This is a common, yet always beautiful holiday centerpiece idea...

This was my version of this, used as a little hostess gift for our friends on Halloween, but this could be done for Thanksgiving... you get the idea!
