48 Hours in Hawaii...

Door to door, a 15 hour journey each way, to spend approximately 48 hours in Maui for a work-related trip...Of course, most of the company crew stayed longer, but since we left our little ones behind (thanks to two wonderful, patient babysitters!), we did not want to be away for too long.

Of course, I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to such a beautiful place but let me tell you...Cleveland to Hawaii is FAR!!  Yet, with all of the lush, exotic, vegetation and wildlife, coupled with breath-taking ocean and mountain views, it was well worth the trip.  Hawaii is paradise, particularly for a lover of photography!

Despite the crazy whirlwind of a trip, I enjoyed the beautiful islands and brief R&R with my hubby...

Views on the way to our hotel...

I loved the unique shape of these trees, with a Chinoiserie vibe...

Exotic birds with an attitude...fun to watch!

Pretty views during breakfast...

We visited Maui in March, during the whale's high mating season...the whale watching was unbelievable! The whale in this photo may be hard to see, but at any time, if you looked at the ocean for a few minutes, you were most certain to spot whale activity!

Love the surfer culture in Hawaii...if only more time to learn!

This adorable little boy, running around the lush green grass kicking a ball...too cute!

We decided to go with a local's recommendation for a quaint little restaurant called Honu...very laid back, right on the water, with delicious fresh seafood and amazing sunset views...
This was the view from our table...a bit cloudy but pretty nonetheless!

We had a yummy Ahi Bruschetta appetizer...had to take a photo of the menu so I can attempt to make something similar at home!

A very unique bird we watched during breakfast one morning...

Collection of random shells/rocks I found on the beach...souvenir for the kids!
I was highly inspired by the beautiful color contrast of the bright cheery orange umbrellas against the complementary blue hues of the ocean and sky...
Although there were some fun activities planned (hiking/cliff-diving (would have been my pick!), horseback riding, snorkeling, spa, etc.) we opted to just veg on the beach since we were exhausted from all the traveling. We literally spent both FULL days on these beach chairs, reading, napping, toes in the sand, sipping a drink...heaven!

Mahalo for a quick yet beautiful trip!
