Happy Easter from OUR Home to YOURS!

Happy Easter! My advanced apologies for the family photo overload...My excuse is that both sides of our families live out of town, so this is the easiest way to share pictures of the grandchildren with the beloved grandparents.  But the honest truth is that I am frightfully aware (as every grandparent at the grocery store will remind you) that these years while the children are young and innocent and still enjoying all of the magical holiday traditions, will quickly pass.

And therefore, to my family's dismay, I am the annoying parent who wants to capture every potential Kodak moment....particularly since I have learned that statistically when it comes to toddlers, you have to take 100 pictures to get 3 good ones.

This year, we returned from our spring break trip to Florida only two days prior to Easter.  Since I had to pull everything together in 48 hours, I had to dig into the archives to come up with some supplies, since the Target aisle was painfully bare.  Luckily, I discovered that we had saved some baskets and eggs from prior years' trips to Michigan...so Easter arrived just in time!

Our beloved babysitter Mollie made this poster with the kids....I adore the way she combined the individual kids' eggs to make a diverse egg collection in the grass...super creative and cute!

A "practice" Easter egg hunt the day before...

Dying Easter eggs with our neighbors...After our littlest, Caroline, spilled a cup of bright green dye all over everything, we decided to take this project outside...much more fun and relaxing....plus, we were able to enjoy the unusually beautiful Cleveland spring weather!

We discovered that the Easter egg dye can be re-purposed for watercolor painting!

Charlie with his egg dye/watercolor artwork...

The kids woke up and immediately looked outside of Charlie's bedroom window to discover all the eggs the Easter bunny left overnight in the backyard!

The kids and their Easter basket surprises...

Jack's buddy at school has a legendary "150 pack of crayons"...it looks like the Easter bunny knew Jack would like one too!

Since I grew up in St. Louis, where spring typically brings warm temperatures and sunshine, I was used to outdoor Easter egg hunts.  However, after visiting my husband's family in Michigan, I discovered that when you live in the North, the Easter bunny often leaves eggs inside, around the house, to avoid the cold/rainy/snowy weather....Luckily for us, the Easter bunny was nice enough to cater to both our indoor and outdoor egg hunt traditions....

First, to the basement....

Next, outside to the backyard...

Now, onto Mass at St. Chris...fingers crossed the scene we are sure to make, is at a minimum...

Jack set the table the night before Easter, to give Daddy a surprise of his own!

Rare expression of sibling LOVE!!
A Happy and Blessed Easter to all!

Now, onto watch the Elite 8 Michigan/Florida game...GO BLUE!
